Ok.....I have a different opinion here....I've worked with many recording artists over the years and singing to a track is nothing new in a live act. Many and I do mean many of your favorite celebrities have performed to a track at one point in time or another. You see the thing is that vocal cords can only sustain a certain amount of abuse before they crack and your voice is gone. Now with that said it also must be understood that in this day and age it has become so important that if you have a song that's hot that you get out everywhere and promote it. This usually means singing the song 2 - 3 times per day, doing radio and tv spots, auto graph sessions and may other duties that all involve singing or talking and little sleep. Which is destructive to you physically and mentally. Most singers out there right now do not have the vocal cords too maintain this type of behaviour and their singing voice pays the price hence the voice over. I'm not trying to defend anyone inparticular but it does get me a little pissed when people in the media and everyone else jump on someones back about this crap without understanding the circumstances that it presents. I was at the RMA's on monday and it was the only thing people were tlaking about like the US losing 320 tons of bomb or some shit isn't more important. I mean she is a performer and she is there to perform.
