^ I loved the Warhol exhibit, but the one they have now is really cool too. Thursdays are Vancouver's best thing because it's totally by donation, but it can get BUSY!
other ideas I like: *Going to see the VSO (can be pricey, but it's a nice excuse to dress up and it's a fun date) *Going to parkside for drinks (some of the best drinks in the city..food is apparently good too, pricey again, but this is such a nice place. I reccomend the ruby slipper martini with homemade raspeberry sorbet. www.parksiderestaurant.ca ) *Going to a garden! Vancouver actually has lots of rad gardens that are pretty year-round...Dr Sun Yat Sen Garden in Chinatown is free, and it's always nice..Van Dusen Gardens...The Japanese Garden at UBC (tho I reccomend going in spring when the cherry blossoms are out) *Take a girl to Kino's on Cambie St, they have really good tapas and live flamenco dancers. A guy took me there once and I was so very impressed! :) *Go to Storeyum, I haven't been, but I've heard nothing but good things about it |

go to a show, go out for dinner at an "ethnic" restaurant. go shopping in chinatown.
go to dollar stores, go see cheap movies at 3rd run theatres. do something crazy that you wouldnt normally do, go to poetry readings or slam poetry, go see a jazz concert.. whatever works, rght |

i went to the ghost train with a date. pretty un-scary (how scary can shakespeare be?!) but fun... all because of the company i'm sure, and isn't that how it's supposed to be?
there are some good suggestions in here, i'll add a few: ~ the planetarium. stars are rad, nuff said. ~ go on a picnic. it's romantic when it's cold out because it's unexpected. you could even wait til there's snow and have a candle lit picnic up on grouse or somewhere. ~ go to open mic night. it's either funny or it's good... either way it's entertaining. ~ go hiking. ~ go for a walk on the beach. honestly, if you like her and she likes you anything will be amazing. seemingly lame and boring date ideas are incredible when you're with someone you're into. |

take a day trip to bowen and do a hike to killarney lake and tote along a picnic. the hike is not challenging at all and it's a really beautiful place. The trail head is literally like at snug cove where the ferry drops you off. It's super easy and inexpensive to get there. I'm all about effing off from the city these days :)
