i don't know if it's so much that the american public are war mongers, but that their president is a war cowboy and creates this sense of terrible fear in the american public so they need him to 'protect' them from this 'fear'.

My dad tried explaing that these election resualts could be telling us how religouse the american ppl are?

Fom what ive been told... in American schools they preach you live in the greatest country and you learn nothing but american history etc.
How would they know or really understand how the world works out side of the states? Therefore making them see how stupid Bush and his men are?

I cant stand watching CNN news becuase its not news... its sypthetic storys only reflecting how it effects the US. How often do you see storys going on about "this happend in this part of the world" on american televison?

As far as American cultural isolation I read a really good piece in the Telegraph a while back, interestingly enough reprinted in the Vancouver Sun. The writers take on it is that Americans are essentially very naive about what goes on in the rest of the world and really believe that everything done on their behalf throught their government is with the best of intentions. The writer also desrcibed a real element of shock and bewilderment at the fact that people could hate them.

It's too bad Americans get to decide who runs their country. If the rest of the world were to decide to became the next president, it would be like *gasp*, the American's trying to do it in Iraq or Afghanistan.

The apathetic ones didn't care enough to vote, and the ones that wanted G-Dub back cared enough to go out and maybe vote a couple of times. =P

Either way, it was a close call and that means that half that country wants the man in office.
