as of now the only changes are the the 2 networks will merge thus giving u a lil better surface. but like stginbeans said by new years this could possibly all change and the shitty side of the deal begins |

That's so odd.
Simply because a few months ago I got a notice in the mail with my bill as of some certain date my charges will be changed. And they were! Good example was my txt msg went from 10 cents to 15 cents. And I just checked my last bill and it's still like that. Hrmmmm...... |

hold on, wouldnt that mean that if you were a fido customer that it would be smart to sign a contract with fido now so that ure locked into there rates (city fido) i was told by one fo the fido employees that they wont be able to touch any pre exisiting contracts, is this true?

The main difference that has come into effect already is that all Fido customers who are NOT on the cityfido unlimited plan have access to Rogers GSM coverage.
http://www.fido.ca/portal/promos/per...romotion.shtml As of November 9, you’ll be able to use the Rogers Wireless network for three months at no additional charge. Any minutes you use on the Rogers Wireless network will count towards your Fido monthly package. You will then have the option to add the enhanced coverage feature to your monthly package, for an additional $5 per month. There’s nothing you need to do. Your handset will automatically make the switch to the Rogers Wireless network where Fido coverage is unavailable. Very good news! |

Copy and pasted part of the FAQ:
Will I know that I am using the Rogers Wireless network and how? • Yes, you will see “Rogers” or “Rogers AT&T” displayed on the handset. Will all of Fido’s monthly airtime packages change? • No. Fido’s monthly airtime packages will remain for our current subscribers and we will continue to sell our packages to new customers. • As always, we re-evaluate our products continuously to ensure they match market conditions and customer demand. • If you would like a two year guarantee for your airtime package, we suggest you opt for an agreement with Fido. Will Rogers Wireless make me sign an agreement? • No. Fido will continue to offer very competitive products and services and you always have the choice to opt in, or remain a customer without an agreement. Will per-second billing remain? • Yes, we will continue to offer it for both local and long distance calls on monthly airtime packages. • As always, we re-evaluate our products continuously to ensure they match market conditions and customer demand. If I change packages, will I then lose per-second billing? • No. All Fido monthly airtime packages include per-second billing. Will I lose the Fido dollars in my account? • No. Your Fido dollars and the Fido Rewards program will remain in place. I think that answers most of the questions that were brought up in this thread!!!!! This is really interesting for me, since I work in the cell phone industry. |
