for those of you who read the newspaper...
i read The Globe and Mail and The New York Times on a daily basis. i find that they both give a pretty objective report on canadian and american issues.
i don't mind The Vancouver Sun or The Georgia Straight, but i will not read The National Post (one of the most blatant and overly right-winged papers in canada) and The Province (which seems more like a tabloid paper than anything to me). |

that's why i like to balance my american vs. canadian views with the NY Times and the G & M. |

I read the globe and mail or national post daily
I always pick up a georgia straight on my way to work on fridays and spend the day reading through it. Fuuck though, some of the writers for that paper totally piss me off. oh, and i read fark (http://www.fark.com) religiously. |

occasionally I'm able to snag one of my dad's Guardian Weekly newspapers from England, which is a compilation of the weeks news for europs top papers (including Le Monde, the Guardian, the telegraph and the Sunday Times) it takes a while to get used to the different style of writing the articles are far better written and are frequently insightful with a eurpoeen view of north american happenings

The only reputable news source around. Seriously though, Globe and Mail/New York Times when I feel like a newspaper. The Strait for a light local read. |

I read the Province and Vancouver Sun, doesn't seem to matter which one, I find they always have the exact same content. Plus they are easy to read, I beleive the Province is written at a grade 10 level.
I just gotta copy of the Globe and Mail the other day and I can't even read it, it's too intellectual, maybe I'm just not that smart...I need to go back to school or something. :P |

I go to Google News and read that.
The sites I seek out for the most "accurate" information are Guardian, Reuters, BBC, Globe and Mail, CBC, and (only if there's no other "reliable" sources) CNN. PS -+> Al Jazeera's International page looks like a simplified version of CNN. *ironic roffles* |

I read the Sun on a regular basis. The only itch I have about it is the fact that the paper folds out so damn big. |

The National Post's Finacial section has better content and editorials then The Globe and Mail's Report on Business. So I usually end up with The Vancouver Sun and National Post. I find that the Province has more entertainment news then really news almost daily, its sad when you can read a paper in under twenty mintes.

Other than that the Province, Sun, and National Post are all trash. I actually find the Globe and Mail has gone quite a bit down hill in response to compitition from the National Post. For good content I like the New York Times, Guardian, Christian Science Monitor, BBC online, Al Jazeera, Washington Post, Economist, Hapers and The Atlantic Monthly. I read most of these online but do tend to pick up magazines more often than news papers. |
