I remember coming across this a few weeks ago...
There have been reports in China and some in the states and I believe a special will air at 5pm tonight on BCTV

Be careful buying "cheap" batteries off Ebay and such. These batteries have exploded while in use or while they are being charged. I'll try to find a link for you guys.

On my old phone (Panasonic TX310 i think) i plugged it in to charge and the fuckin phone started smokin all the sudden it was fucked... totally fried the phone and battery.

Nothing new anjew. this has been going on for atleast a few years now. i saw some of the aftermath on tv many times and its not fun at all. you dont get fucked up really bad but still. watch what aftermarket brands u buy

haha yea i heard that back in the day. apparently the signal could cause a reaction thus causing the gas station to blow up.

I thought I saw an episode of Myth Busters where they totally busted this myth. I think maybe the test it being set off by electricity, though. I'm sure a batterie exploding while being charged is not a too uncommon thing.
