A Lil bit of jungle culture history
Ever wonder where 'BOH!' came from?
you know.... 'BIGUPS TO THA SELECTA!! MAKE SOME NOISE IN DA HOUSE!!! BO! BO! BO! BO!' Well I figured it out. You see, way back in the day, all jungle MCs used to have a pet elephant. It was just the tradition. I don't know why no one keeps the tradition up to this day, but they sure kept it up back in the day. Now, one day, some unnamed jungle MC was performing at a party, and he had his elephant, Bobo there with him. Bobo got bored and walked off somewhere and got lost in the croud. Now, I know what you're thinking. How the fuck does an elephant get lost at a party?? This I'm not sure of. Perhaps Bobo's camo pants made him blend in really well with the croud? I don't know. But lost Bobo was. Anyhow, when this unnamed jungle MC discovered that his beloved elephant was lost, he got worried and began calling out his name over the mic. "IZ THERE AN ELEPHANT IN THA HOUSE? MAKE SOME NOISE IF YOU FIND MY ELEPHANT! BOBO!! BOBO!!! WHERE ARE YOU BOBO?!?!?" Junglists, being the kind hearted folk they are, knew the kind of feeling you get when you lose your elephant at a party, so they all helped find Bobo by calling him by name as well. But after awhile they all ran out of breath and could only yell 'BO!' before taking another breath. Things just sort of went from there. And THAT concludes today's lesson in the history of jungle culture. |
