Anyone else finding it hard to get into the Christmas Spirit?

I was driving home last night from downtown and turned on my 2nd fav radio station news 1130. Although it cuts out when I go through tunnels it contains the most content within a short amount of time.

The first bit of news I heard was about how Police are going to be cruising around in unconventional cruisers this season to pull over unsuspecting drunks. So those headlight identification patterns you've trained yourself to detect using the rearview mirror will be useless. Keep and eye on all cars as they will be uniformed oficers driving around family vans and GM products.

The 2nd bit of news I heard was about a crisis line I could call If I was really down about the holidays. Now I don't know if i would go that far but I've noticed my lack of energy to get into the swing of things this year. Maybe it's the events that have taken place since 09/11, or maybe it's a combination of negative stuff around me that weakens my spirit. I haven't been able to pinpoint it but I really hope it breaks away soon. Anyone else having the same problems? :(

it doesn't feel like christmas. i think my problem is that i've been so busy as of late that i haven't had enough time to actually get into the christmas spirit. perhaps in the next couple of days, everything will settle in.

if it were to snow like a mofo in the next few days, i'll deffinatly get all christmasy and happy. cuz when it snows, it makes me feel like i'm on a tv show or something. cuz in tv land it always snows on christmas. and everyone walks around streets that are all decorated...frolicking in the snow....dancing to Boney M's christmas cd...or even kenny G's christmas cd...cuz kenny G's christmas cd is pretty good...even though it's all saxaphone. but i'm just rambling now.

theres sumthing not so christmas-sy this christmas this year.. maybe it ties in with sept 11 or the fact that my family hasn't gotten an x mas tree yet.. well whatever it is... money also plays a key factor as i find myslef broke with no shopping done... furthermore i need money for nyb....

With all the crap that has been going on with the world and the downturn of the economy, I think the Christmas spirit has been muted this year.

Sure enough I decide not to be a Scrooge to everyone and go to Metrotown to buy some stuff for my baby relatives... now I know why I hate this season.

Cars everywhere, no courtesy, BUY! BUY BUY! and fucking HUGE crowds of people. WHere's the Christmas spirit in all that? Nothing but $$$ in the retailer's eyes.

At least I'm done shopping for everyone now.

i find it hard to get into the spirit too...shopping is crazy..its so hard to find a meaningful gift...i think i've been too caught up in my own world latley to get into the christmas spirit..no tree is goin up in my house this year either..i dunno..christmas is usually just another day anyways..~

i'm finding it hard to get into xmas this year, maybe it's the lack of snow, maybe it's knowing that xmas day is going to be a hellish day of way way way too much family stuff, going around to EVERYONE'S houses, and stress. nice to see family, i'm not looking forward to cramming it all into one day though. maybe it's because i'm 4200 kms away from home and i miss my mum and her relaxed home. maybe it's also the fact that i'm pretty hurting for money. i think it's all of it combined.

yesterday i was driving around and holy shit, people are insane! rude, in a hurry, stressed right the fuck out, thank god this season is only once a year.

now i know what my parents feel like... o well... its ok i guess, good thing it comes only once a year...

and that is kinda funny how everybody else (as drivers) become more and more insane closer to christmas time.. hehe especially on new years eve!

see when you go to the mall, you can tell who has bought all their presents and who hasn't.. :) theres two kinds of ppl in the mall on xmas eve.
1) ppl running like mad, grabbing random items from shelves
2) the ppl who came to watch them!

Then again, I don't like any holiday. They are all way too comercialized (sp?). Except Hallowe'en, but then thats only cause I love dressing up and seeing others dress up.
Now, if it snows lots I'll get cheery. But Vancouver sucks for snow! Bah.

i thought i was the only one who felt this way. im normally really excited bout christmas but i think it's just going to be another day for me this year. i dont even give two shits about it honestly. maybe its because of all the fucking family wars im having lately.im not in the mood for it :/
