aww you guys are too kind, i actually had to log out to make sure you weren't using the [ you ] trick
i second the nomination for DJ SOO... although i do see him spin at least once a week i'm with Senior on HUBBZ, also ANGST and ILLESHA are disgracefully underplayed for their level of talent... big ups!! Quote:

^i believe that was by Greg Packer from Aus, although it's only been released as a white label. There was another one done by J Majik & crew, a fair bit harder but not as good imo.
glad you liked the mix, although i'm not playing much dnb these days... check the other mix in my sig for a better indication of what i'll be playing at Solid... |

Aww shit, rad to see so much love for sherwood in this thread! :) he rocks the drunken penguin styles like it ain't no thang.
This city is totally packed with talent, so it's really hard to devise a list without knowing I'm definitely missing out on some favorites. One thing though is that Vancouver ought to pay a lot more respect to psidream. It's strange to talk to people on the other side of the world who have mad love for the guy and wish they could see him play when he hardly ever gets booked in his own home town..the guy has a ton of tracks released, and we're not talking smalltime here, breakbeat science has picked up a few of them. I dunno, I would think stuff like that would turn a lot more heads than it has here..not to mention the stuff that's come out with influenza. |

Myra, SOOoooooo True.
It's unfortunate to think that there some great talent out there that is rarely seen. If we were to keep the variety and quit stickin with the same ol'djs, I'm sure we wouldnt have this problem. Tho what sucks is that everyone wants to see the same people over and over again. If people could be more open to newer/older talents.. I'm sure we wouldn't be sitting here being like.. "I haven't seen so'n'so spin in a long ass time' But then again.. with the people that are throwing parties, they feel obligated to have thier friends spin.. just becuase they're friends. And I find that a stupid reason.. like have your friends play out too! heck.. have them share the decks with you. oi. |

^for sure. that's gotta be the biggest reason behind boring & predictable lineups at clubs & parties... everybody's gotta put up their 'crew' or whatever, which usually doesn't leave much room for any fresh talent. If lineups were put together purely based on skill & musical flow, partiers would probably be a lot happier... but i guess the promoters would have a lot of pissed off friends as well....

^word buddy.
Except if your a true dj and suport the the scene.. wouldn't you think that all these dj's would want to have fresh talent to come out.. I mean you were all new djs at one point to. why not help out your fellow man? Let alone if you are friends with these poeple.. you'd think they'd understand your choices. |
