What was your WORST job?

I'm sure you'd agree that EVERY SINGLE PERSON on this board has gone through a bad job. So, what made you fucking HATE THE FUCK OUT OF YOUR JOB?! Was it the boss, colleagues, work conditions, the actual work itself? and why.

My second job at 16 was selling mbna mastercards at vancouver canuck, and bc lions games. Why did it suck you ask? Well, if you know what i look like, i got a baby face. and when i was young, i looked REALLY young. So, it was shitty being a little chinese guy dealing with drunk hockey/football fans trying to get them to sign up for something they obviously really don't wanna sign up for. Hell, why would they want a credit card from someone who was not old enough to own one himself. Damn. I FUCKING HATED THAT JOB.

WOrst job?

I was hired as a contractor to assist Sabre systems and Canadian Airlines. The IT staff there were not very friendly to contract staff and asked us to do the most mundane tasks.

For two days I was sorting and labelling 3.5" floppy disks! When the director saw two "not very cheap" contractors sorting disks he asked us "What are you doing? Sorting diskettes?"

I replied "No sir! We are labelling them."

Shit hit the fan soon after that.

Wendy's! Not the job, but the people I worked with. Some of the power trips the managers had were amazing. I don't get along well with authority anyway, and when they start trying to control every aspect of your 4 or 8 hours spent there, it becomes annoying. Quickly.

I love my job now though. I work with the best people.

hmmm probably superstore wherehouse (i know this is the worst for many) but my reason is most likely diff from other who have worked here. I actually thought the work was ok. It was easy and it was fun driving the pallet jack. It was the boss that i couldn't stand. And to no surprise i told him to fuck off take the job and shove it and thats how i quit. that fucking fag

None of my jobs have been terrible... I did Construction Labour for awhile, sweet pay but the jobs sucked sometimes. There's nothing like shovelling wet sand into foundations in the pissing Rain for 9 hours a day to... dampen your spirits? The $1000 paycheques helped ease that though.

My very first job when I was 16, I was the little lackey at a piercing and tattoo shop.

Part of my job consisted of scrubbing off bloody tools! That was always kinda icky
(although it takes the cake for the most interesting job I've ever had, I stayed there for two years!)

oh and of course the worst jobs ever have historically been telemarketing (jobs never lasted more than a week or two)

..and I guess I didn't like working at off the wall, retail is not my thing at all..and although I can find some kind of 'zen' with folding clothes (I seriously LOVE to fold clothes all nice..I'm weird.) working a greeter shifts for 8 hours and having to say 'hi there!' to everyone that comes in the store really sucked.

Well said... nothing says "you suck" more than being chained to a cubicle by a head-set.

Telemarketing -- Worst job ever!

Being desperate, I once found myself working in this grease spoon of an Asian restaurant (I'm white) where I was the waiter. I didn't really understand what the cook was shouting most the time, and my tips mysteriously levelled off at 5 dollars everyday (consistency). Aside from doing all kinds of shit that were way out of my job description, like cleaning the lavatory and preparing some food, I also had to deal with very shitty customers whom on two occasions refused to pay. My last straw was when the gas meter was spinning like crazy and through some pantomime and broken English they intimated to me if I could just poke my head back there and 'smell' if there was a leak.

First of all, carbon monoxide has no smell. Second, if I stayed for my second shift I would've been dead. Instead I did the decent thing and spoke to their English speaking daughter and told her that they should phone the gas inspector and that I quit.

I took my last paycheck that day and I honestly don't know if the place blew up or if everyone died :)
