Never apologize for leaving a job.
You made a decision to move on and that is it. You are not doing anyone a disservice by choosing to leave. Never go in feeling apologetic, remorseful, angry, etc. Just go in cheery, thank him for hiring you in the first place, thank him for the oppourtunity to work for him and wish him well in his business. That's it. I'm a career contractor and I've worked for many companies. What I phrased above is 'generic' and you can use it as a base for what you want to say. |

I assume you mean 2 weeks notice right?
It is out of courtesy that you give an employer 2 weeks notice. You could just walk in and quit if you wanted to and give zero notice. All depends on if you want a reference or not. :c-tard: But seriously, give him 2 weeks notice, ask for a reference letter for any future job that may request one and when it's your last day, shake your boss' hand and leave. Trust me, it get easier the more you do it. I just hope you never get to do it as many times as I have. |

Let me put it to you this way:
You aren't the first person your boss has hired and you won't be the last. I am quite sure he has had this happen before. Don't be afraid to quit, just be calm and polite and everything will be fine. In any case, good luck and hope everything works out. PS. A shot of hard alcohol always works to calm the nerves. Just make sure you take a breath mint afterwards. |

i dont see what's so hard about quitting.. i worked at walmart for like a month hehe... and one day after my shift i just couldnt take it anymore so i went to one of the managers (we had so fucking many it was fucking ridiculous) and was like "yeah uhh.. i want to talk to you about quitting" and that was that
when they ask you why, just make up some stupid excuse like school or something.. its easy! YOU CAN DOOO EEETT!! :) john 2899131 |

Well, if you want a good reference then wait until after the Christmas holiday. Once its over, write a letter saying your giving 2 weeks notice. Mention briefly how much you enjoyed your position and its just time for you to move on. This way, they won't be pissed cuz legally you have to give 2 weeks.
On the other hand, if you dont need the reference. Just stop going. ha ha ha! |
