George W. Bush is gettig sued!
President George Bush Charged in Provincial Court
By charlie smith A Vancouver lawyer has filed torture-related criminal charges against U.S. President George W. Bush in Vancouver Provincial Court. Gail Davidson, cochair of an international legal group called Lawyers Against the War, told the Straight that she charged Bush on November 30 with seven counts of counselling, aiding, and abetting the commission of torture in connection with the actions of U.S. armed forces at the notorious Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq and at a U.S. naval base at Guantánamo Bay. If the case goes to trial and Bush is found guilty, he would be liable to imprisonment for up to 14 years. "I went about it in a very organized and solemn way," Davidson said. "It wasn't every day that someone was going to walk in and try to lay a charge against a visiting president." A justice of the peace accepted the charges, which means there will be a hearing to decide whether or not Bush will be required to appear. Davidson said that within eight days of her laying the charges, the Attorney General of Canada, Irwin Cotler, must give his consent for the case to continue. Davidson said she worked closely with Osgoode Hall law professor Michael Mandel, cochair of LAW, in preparing the case against Bush. She added that after the news was reported in the U.S., she received some hostile e-mail, as well as "rude" treatment from some American media outlets. The same day that Davidson's charges were approved, the New York Times reported that it had obtained a memo from the Geneva-based International Committee of the Red Cross accusing the U.S. military of using tactics "tantamount to torture" on prisoners at Guantánamo Bay. The next morning, mainstream Canadian newspapers such as the Globe and Mail, the National Post, and the two local CanWest-owned dailies did not report that the U.S. president had been charged in Vancouver. http://www.straight.com/content.cfm?id=6745 |

Do you have any other articles like this..it would be interesting to know more?
Anyway Theres probablystill alot to defend if we want to keep 14years BUSH in prison. And probably much more evidence to bring him to Jail... I don't know enough about Law's but this seems way to easy... And it will probably be fallowed with a few scendals... But I would definitly be happy if there would be even just a chance to bringhim, 1day to jail! |

Uh Charlie Smith sucks.
Oh, and from someone who has worked with the government for two years, people try to sue the government all the time, everyone thinks they have the next best thing that's going to work.. it never pans out, though. |

hahaha can you imagine if we actually put George Bush in jail
That would ruin Canada for many many years come. Imagine USA hated us so much that they halted all trade, all everything Unfortunalty Canada isn't much without the states |

Ahh, the unexpected makes the future so great.
I don't think he should go to jail for anything. If he did, i think it'd be silly. As much as i don't like bush, i don't think you can send a leader of an army to jail because a couple of his subordenants tortured a bunch of people. unless they were ordered to. I suppose i don't understand the case enough, but Dave, you're right. That would change up a lot wouldn't it. |

he was actually arrested in Canada;
there was a bit of a rush at teh gates when it landed;... the Germans got a bunch of the others..;;;; Reuters in Germany is reporting that Donald Rumsfeld, George Tenant and eight other unnamed US officials will be charge with war crimes in connection with the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal. The charges are being filed by the Center for Constitutional Rights. "German law in this area is leading the world," Peter Weiss, vice president of the New York-based Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), a human rights group, was quoted as saying in Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper's Tuesday edition. German law allows for individuals charged with war crimes to be investigated whereever they may be living. Evidently the complaint is over 100 pages, and the Frankfuter Rundschau will be reporting on it in its Tuesday edition. More info should be available shortly. I really dont see the american government alowing somthing like that to happen. I mean they broke war laws already and seemed to get away with it why would they not be able to pull off this one. Even if he does get some sort of sentence he will be out on bail with in 24 hours and back to his evil little ways. But hey i know nothing of this subject so i will just sit back and see what happens, that is if anything does happen. Or if the situation is even real. lol But hey if it works out for us then put him in jail. I will laugh.

basically; the american government is going down.. international diplomacy has come to roost. bush got in on a rigged election.. based on a set up through his apparent connections.. it is a system ruled through deceptions and indiscriminancies.. people rising to power on the shoulders of the underpriveledged; only to do them wrong and stake the blames on others.
personally I think the Canadian army should Invade America right now; while the troops are in Iraq; then put Leslie Nielson up for election against Dan Akroyd. |

The States rely on some of our resources but Canada is much more reliant on the States. They have 250 million, we have 30 million. Since both countries are financially stable it only makes sense that we rely on their industries more. They simply have more |
