a sheriff isnt a cop...they're transporting prisoners.

No they cannot pull you over and give you a ticket...but they do have radios to call VPD or RCMP

if they pull you over, then you were suspected to be speeding, they will even ask you "Do you know why I pulled you over?" If you reply "Because I was speeding" They can give you a ticket. If you say "No." Then they can't.

And if you really want to be a prick, ask them for 3 printouts of the radar they used. (the police need 3 accurate radar reports of you speeding) - if they can't supply that, then they can't write the ticket.
