DONATE - CANADIAN RED CROSS
Donate to the Red Cross for the Tsunami Fund.
instead of spending 250 on some jeans - not gonna name names lol let's put some of it towards a better cause. I woke up and donated 75 bucks from my paypal account I think I needed that money too lol... but it feels good... just imagine if it happened here. Last edited by Anjew; Jan 12, 05 at 10:52 AM. |

Heey! don't forget about Doctors Without Borders too.
http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/ They need donations bigtime. Remember, disease could double the death toll. |

Im a lill hesitant donating only to the Red Cross as it seems the majority of donations go to them.
There are lots of other organizations such as the one myra mentioned. I personal would prefer Uniceff as its geared towards the children and orphans. There at least 30,000 orphans and I think thats in Thialand alone. Maybe do a little resurch to figure out what your money is going towards and maybe share a lill to all the organizations so some dont get left out adn are able to help at their max :) |

I dont know if im going to donate or not , considering thailand is rejecting the fact that countries from around the world are sending them money aid , maybe we should let them keep what they want out of it, maybe they care more for their dignity as a place on the map rather then been known for a country rather than some welfare case maybe to some people in the world there dignity is better than any amount in paper.

i donated $100 to the red cross, cause i think they are the most trustworthy group to donate to. unlike unicef who *apparently* spends half your donation on commericals or to the production of those little orange boxes at halloween. i think it's awesome alot of countries are helping out with the aftermath of it all, but i'm getting kind of sick with all the media coverage it's getting, it's like the new iraq.

Its hard for me to comment on that... Maybe the Thais have a diffrent way of dealing with the issue. There 90% budist and many down south were the tsunami hit are muslams also... could this have anything to do with it? Otherwise just becuase one countrie isnt excepting there are MANY others on the Indian coast that are desperate and very appriciative. Also keep in mind that there are at least 10 more epademics around our world right now that the UN is also trying to help. As one country in africa is "loosing almost 1000 ppl a day... almost the equivalent of a tsunami every 5 months." Please dont hesetate to give! The tsunami hype is getting ppl's attetntion, but lets not forget there are other countries in the world desprete for help that we hardly ever hear about :( Im sure any "extra" money will still be used for the same purposes. |

Like I mentioned that 10 other countries are also dealing with disater situations were 1000's are dieing of civil war and famin. I dont think its bad to keep showing us images of whats happening as it reminds us... However when catching a QUICK clip of these other 10 countires I ask why arnt we being noted about them? Howcome they dont get the attention the tsunami is? PS: thank for your comment on uniceff. I was gonna point out that yes alot of donation money is spent on the resorces of only running the organization (offices, comercials, etc) doesnt mean every penny/dollar is going straight to the ppl who need it. Sucks as even im not sure what organization spends their money the wisest? |
