The more I learn about history the more horrified I am by the terrible slaughters that have happened. The most common theme through all of them is that some how it is being perpatrated for the greater good of the people being killed. This is not always the case, but very often has been. From WW1 to WW2, to burning villages in Vietnam to save them and now we are bearing witness to the massacre in Iraq in the name of saving more people.

I don't really have any intended direction of thought here or a reason for posting this other than to share my thoughts.
