I think PS2 has better games, and more variety of games than the xbox. You only really hear about 3 or 4 really good xbox games, and you hear a lot about the PS2.
I still have the old PSX. I've been meaning to buy a PS2, but I never have the money, and I keep thinking I'll never have the time to play it. Which is why I ended up buying a game boy advance sp haha. Now I want a PSP :( |

Ps2 is so dated.. I do have one but loading times are longer and longer as games get better and better.
I suggest an Xbox. I have an xbox too and I love it.. Load times are a breeze and graphics are prettier. Im thinking of buying an NGC for RE4 GTA San Andreas will be coming out for the xbox sometime this year. You're guranteed that it wont be a direct port.. you might see new features like added tracks.. Deffinatly see better graphics. You can always go for handhelds like psp, DS, GBA. but stay away from the N-gage because they've stopped making games for that pile of ass. Then you gotta think of exclusive games for either console.. such as: Ps2: Devil May Cry, Resident Evil, Gran Turismo. and for the xbox: Halo, Ninja Gaiden, TOCA, Project gotham racing. |

I have all three systems and I can safely say that the Xbox would be the better choice.
PS2 Pro's and Con's Pros: -The largest library of games. -If your looking for more japanese orientated games, then this is the best system. -Online support is growing, and online play is free on the PS2 -The new slim PS2's are an excellent deal right now, besides replacing a lot of the dated electronics, it also comes with a built in network adaptor. -The PS2 is compatable with PSone games. Cons: -The PS2 was the first sytem of this generation, but is defenetly showing it's age. The graphics aren't up to par with those offered on the Xbox, or even the Gamecube. -While online support is growing, it is nowhere near as refiend as the Xbox live gameplay. -PS2 has by far the longest load times of any system. The PS2 in my opinion is best suited towards solo gammers, IE- People who enjoy RPG's, platformers and puzzle games. If you like to have a bunch of friends over to play video games and have a few drinks this is not your system, very few games provide support for more then two players. Just released/Upcomming PS2 only games Devil May Cry 3 http://media.ps2.gamespy.com/media/6...g_2528126.html http://media.ps2.gamespy.com/media/6...g_2528137.html http://media.ps2.gamespy.com/media/6...g_2528147.html Xenosage II http://media.ps2.gamespy.com/media/5...g_2475862.html http://media.ps2.gamespy.com/media/5...g_2475867.html http://media.ps2.gamespy.com/media/5...g_2278661.html Tekken 5 http://media.ps2.gamespy.com/media/6...g_2517089.html http://media.ps2.gamespy.com/media/6...g_2517097.html http://media.ps2.gamespy.com/media/6...g_2517104.html Narc http://media.ps2.gamespy.com/media/5...g_2358477.html http://media.ps2.gamespy.com/media/5...g_2358483.html Metal Gear Solid http://media.ps2.gamespy.com/media/5...html?fromint=1 http://media.ps2.gamespy.com/media/5...g_2458266.html http://media.ps2.gamespy.com/media/5...html?fromint=1 Xbox's Pro's and Con's: Pro's -Xbox Live is almost standard on any action game now. -Better graphics then the PS2 -If your a fan of action games, the Xbox is the best system for that. -Built in hard drive allows for some great features, IE-Downloading your CD's onto the hard drive, then replacing the soundtracks of your games with your own songs. Quick load times for saved games. -Quick load times Con's -Lack of decent RPG's and shooters. -Microsoft dosen't like to gamble on games, thus a lot of interesting/orginal titles get left out of Xbox's library -Also, Xbox isn't that big in japan, so there aren't a lot of japanese games being developed for it. -While Xbox live is great, it also has a monthly fee attached to it. (9.95). The xbox in my opinion is best suited towards casual gamers/social gamers. The fact that you can Lan several xbox's together makes for some great multiplayer experiances. Most of the Xbox's games are action games that are really easy to get into, but lack some of the depth you would get on PS2 games. Just relased/Upcomming Xbox games: Jade Empire http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/...g_2507224.html http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/...g_2507230.html http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/...g_2507222.html Mechassault 2: Lone Wolf http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/...g_2523519.html http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/...g_2421348.html http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/...html?fromint=1 Halo 2 http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/...g_2452148.html http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/...g_2452167.html http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/...html?fromint=1 Knights of the old republic 2 http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/...g_2460818.html http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/...g_2456038.html http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/...g_2459425.html But the graphics between the two systems isn't even a contest here's an example: GTA on the Xbox http://media.xbox.ign.com/media/016/...g_1864352.html http://media.xbox.ign.com/media/016/...g_1852595.html http://media.xbox.ign.com/media/016/...g_1852121.html GTA on PS2 http://media.ps2.ign.com/media/015/0...html?fromint=1 http://media.ps2.ign.com/media/015/0...g_1401808.html So in closing, I would have to say for me, the Xbox is the best choice. But that depends on what style of play you like. |

I think resident evil is generally for the gamecube now... As for the handhelds, I love my DS, but it probably had the worst set of launch titles I've ever seen (three months with no new games coming out, and unconfirmed releases for the rest?!?!?). The PSP looks great, and I will probably grab one if I got the bling. |
