Try Leo's Cameras on Granville.
If you want bigger gear (movie-quality) talk to PS (Production Services), White's (W.F.White's), Hollywood North (although, they're kind of expensive). There's a couple more places, but I can't think of them at the moment.
White's and PS are rental houses, in case you wanna experiment w/ the gear, before you drop the big coin.
However, being that the film industry is in such a terrible slump at the moment, you could very easily talk yourself a pretty good deal, these days.
