What really started war?

Resources...Land...Wealth...Religion...M isunderstanding...a Conspiracy...ect.??!?

It's all that and more but do you think one or more is the major factor of it?
I think it's resources mostly as it dictates almost all of the economy. People will do anything to get it and to protect it. It is money in their pockets.
But then, religion is also another major factor too along with misunderstanding. They follow these sciptures so closely, how is it they know it is right? Over the years, the words have been changed and revamped for these individuals own satisfaction and understanding. Some so drastic, the words become so incomprehensible only as the individual tells it so that it becomes understandable.
"We may speak different languages but in the end, it all means the same thing. If we only understood that, we wouldn't be fighting with one another." - unknown
Or maybe it's a alien plot to mock human behavior for their own pleasure.
or we're just sadistic sick fucks.

You are absolutely correct. Despite the excuses which have been used to justify confilicts since earliest european history, nearly all of them have been over resources and territory. The crusades were a land grab.

2 causes for war

#1...

Religion.

Sad as it may be, religious wars happen all the time.

- Serbia / Croatia
- Palestine / Israel
- Al Quida / Terrorist Organizations / USA
- umpteen other instances

There are also others which do not appear on the surface to be caused by religious differences, but actually are religious wars because someone has taken a religion to the extreme (Hitler vs. Jews) and forced their own personal interpretation upon it.

#2...

Greed...

Um.. ya.. In case you didnt know that one already.

how many of those do you actually think are about religion?

Serbia / Croatia -- battle to extend territory

Palestine / Israel -- battle caused by the displacment of millions of palestinians from their land.

Al Quida -- reaction to US exercising it's will in middle eastern territory.

I don't understand why people only choose to draw examples from modern conflict and don't understand that although the way war is fought has changed greatly, and weapons have seen incredible advancements, the causes of war remian very much the same.

PEOPLE CAUSE WAR. We started to hump eachother, and the population rapidly expanded, as did the opportunity for conflict to errupt.

So my answer, simply is, people. It always has been. One can say things like religion, greed, land, money, but in the end it all relates back to a growing population.

Just stop having sex, stop reproducing, and there will be no more war.

people are just violent man. ever since those first humans got together they had the need to dominate one another, conspiracies have nothing to do with the beginnings of war. unless those aliens conspired us to attack one another

nope.

without people there would still be war.

watch gnus in the field. spiders with webs too close. bees. wolves. vultures. elephants.

war in in our nature, and is so deeply rooting in living things that it's probably been around before they had a dozen cells in them.

humans try so hard to distance themselves from being thought of as tied to 'the world of beasts', but in many ways we are just like them.

There would still be war but that is not all we are. We are still animals and animals also know how to live in peace.
