When I worked at a chinese food place my boss' mom always went to work and helped out and she'd always make food and make me eat it instead of chow mein and stuff, she always had wierd stuff I dont even remember what all of it was called but once she made me eat these pickled fish things with the bones in them still and i had to pick it all out, and these really stinky pickled leaves..

some more wierst stuff ive eaten is from my friends korean fridge at his house, cuz his parents keep a fridge with all thier food in it and the kids have a fridge of food with the stuff i normally eat ( as well as them) and whenever people get drunk over there someone will pick out stuff from the "korean fridge" and eat it.. kinda like a drinking game its wierd. but there sure is some stuff I wouldnt have tried on my own.

dinuguan (this dish made with pig's blood), ox tongue, frog legs...
I'm sure there's more, I just can't recall. it's funny because my was born in the Philippines and there was this Filipino delicacy her aunt used to make her eat called balots (a duck inside an egg, that's almost ready to be hatched, but still a fetus) was actually one of the things they made contestants eat on "Fear Factor". it was funny, my mom was watching and going "those balots are actually quite tasty when you don't get the feathers and the light bones stuck in your mouth". --Joanne :P |
