Update on NHLPA website...

Though the season is cancelled...the NHL requested a meeting with the NHLPA for this Saturday...what could this mean?

TORONTO (February 18, 2005): Late Thursday night the NHL requested a meeting with NHLPA representatives in New York. Today the NHLPA accepted the invitation and a meeting has been scheduled for Saturday.

I hope the NHL throw a doggy bag to the NHLPA...go lower on the cap, and see what they think. The NHL has all the cards right now, the question is "do the players want to keep their jobs"?

NFL has a cap that works, NBA has a cap that works...it's the players who exploited these rediculous increases in payroll. The players took as much as they could get and this is where we ended up...and the PA was then at the last minute willing to negotiate a cap.

Too little too late...hey, I could live off of $10,000 month strike/lockout pay...4 months of that and it would equal what I make in a year.

But still to this day, I blame both sides.
