I read a pretty ironic/funny article recently in one of my older GQ magazines. All of this information comes from this article, and most of it is researched by a man named Norm Ornstein.
He states that if America were to suffer a catastrophic attack and the White House was hit... if half of the people in that house died, there would be no house. According to the Constitution, a majority of each house of Congress must be present before business can be conducted. Without that majority, Congress would be paralyzed. It couldn't approve money for military operations; it couldn't provide disaster relief; it couldn't declare war. What's worse is that there is absolutely no plan in place if this were to ever happen. The people (I'm not sure who they talked to) say that "ours is a system that will cope with it" which means they're basically saying we should have a period of benign martial law. It gets better yet too. None of the government's three branches is prepared for what counterterrorism spooks gruesomely call a political "decapitation"- an attack that knocks out most or all of the political leadership. For instance, replacing a dead president could be a nightmare for more than the obvious reasons. The rules governing the presidential line of succession are antiquated and illogical. The Constitution states that the vice president will replace the president if he dies or leaves office. Beyond that it's unclear. A more detailed line of succession was devised in 1947, but it's a fairly bizarre plan: The Speaker of the House is in line after the vice president, and then comes the Senate president pro tem, which happens to be a powerless title traditionally held by the most senior member of the Senate's majority party. This means that on September 11, 83-year-old Robert Byrd of West Virginia was third in line to be president of the United States. (Had Jim Jeffords not left the Republican Party and become an independant a few months earlier, the extremely sleepy 98-year-old Strom Thurmond would have been their man.) Apparently since that accident and the prospect of having these attacks occur to the US, their government has only taken a couple of tiny baby steps to buy some time, rather than deal with it. They've completely avoided or actively tried to block things that would deal with the larger set of problems. According to Ornstein, the Senate has at least begun to consider the problem, albeit slowly, while the House has remained obstinate. Which is a bit ironic given that members of the Senate can be immediately replaced by governors from their home states. In the House, however, the Constitution requires special elections to fill vacant seats, and even under ideal circumstances special elections take months. As the House waited to replace its members, the legislative branch would be paralyzed. What does all of this information have to do with anything discussed within this post? What I'm trying to show you is that these governments are shady. They don't even have a plan for this type of event? Why do they not fear this type of attack? What does that tell you? Governments are arrogant yes, but not that arrogant to think an attack will never happen. Another war is imminent, just give it time. So again I ask, why have they not dealt with the prospect of their destruction? I doubt I will have persuaded any of you with this information, but maybe you will start questioning things a little more. Either way, whatever your opinion is, it's all good. We are at least each entitled to that. |

Here's a nice primer for the unbelievers...
http://www.prisonplanet.com/020804vonbuelow.html AJ: Also, sir, we have NORAD standing down for an hour and twenty five minutes but when we had the golfer Payne Stewart went off course for fifteen minutes, he was surrounded in eighteen minutes by five F-16s so why did NORAD stand down? |

my work comp has no sound, and my home comp is currently infected with a virus, so it'll be a little while before i can view that video.
but way to confirm my belief that your proof won't stand up. i mean if you got the answers then show them off. but wait, once again the burden of proof is on me, even though i'm not the one making dubious claims. this feels like an evolution/creationism argument. i'll try to watch that video a.s.a.p. but why don't you just go prove yourself. won't really be checking this thread too often, because it'll be the same tired bullshit. |
