Shopping with no money..
Jesus! It's like an addiction...I go into store with no money and walk out feeling like a cloud of funk just tore up my wardrobe!!
Why do we do it to ourselves...the hopeless shoppers? Walking downtown Robson going into the hottest stores..it's TOO much fUN* :( |

I HATE shopping when I have no dollars. It's more depressing than not having dollars in the first place. Ugh. Went to the mall two nights ago with my Mum and sis. Went into ONE STORE (literally, Athlete's World, and that was it) and I could have easily spent upwards of $200!
I have been so good tho. Since Jan 1st I have only bought three thongs from La Senza and 2 cds!!! (and obviously gas, cellie bill, and a few events & dinners - Matt usually takes me out/treats me). I am doing soo soo good for not shoping right now! I believe I can resume my shopping sprees come the end of March :) |

People who shop with no money drive me crazy.
We have customer counters, people! We get in trouble if we don't "convert" enough customers! :( I think everyone should have to work retail for a couple of weeks to understand how much it SUCKS when you totally service a customer to the best of your ability only to have them try on stuff that looks FABULOUS and not have any intention to purchase any of it :( |

"oh you're in the store and tried something on? therefore you are now obligated to buy something" besides, if you're helpful people tend to remember that and will comeback if they really want it. should these shoppers be ashamed that they might think about their purchases as opposed to being an impulse buyer? |

My store is NOT commissioned, however, like EVERY other retail store we do have sales goals to meet. I'm glad that you think that people will come back for the sale if they like the items, but the reality is that only about 15% of holds actually get picked up. Hot Karl, my problem is absolutely not with people who try items on and don't find anything that they like, is appropriate, etc., rather it's with those people who go "shopping" with no money and no intention to purchase anything at all. Honestly, it's a waste of the sales associates' time, and it's a waste of my time as a manager trying to come up with ways to increase sales, conversion and upt when a good 25% of my customers are 13-17 year old kids with no money! I guess you'd have to be in retail management to understand. |

you must really be into your job to care about the return customers 5 years ahead.
i hate sales people cause they sell you what the company tells them to sell, not what you want ot need, or even whats the best product for you. its all about gross margin and stock levels. at future shop anyway, but i doubt its much differnt else where. im pritty bad about spending money, i almost always spend money when i leave the house. but thats why i leave funds that are spoken for at home :P |
