should I buy an iPod, iPod mini or iPod Shuffle
Okay there has been some scattered threads about different battles between these Apple options. I have basically come to the conclusion of what im going to buy but I thought taking everyone else opinions.
I'm all over this iPod mini. At first you will say the obvious "small hard drive, no accessories, blah blah". I thought the same too, until I started to think im going to use this all the time for portability. Sure the iPod is small but I want jean pocket and some change small. The iPod mini is so tiny you cant' believe it holds 6Gigs!! Then comes to my second realization, even with all the music I have, I DONT LISTEN TO MORE THEN 6GIGS IN A DAY. lol, seriously why the fuck would I need a 60Gig HD in my pocket only good for music (file storage would be a different story). Dock it nightly semi-nightly and transfer new and old. I would much rather keep my main directory of music where it comes from then risk traveling with it or keep two copies. Price breakdown: Futureshop.ca -- 20Gig iPod = $379 -- 30Gig iPod 'Photo' = $439 -- 6Gig iPod mini = $319 -- 4Gig iPod mini = $229 -- 512MB iPod Shuffle = $129 Well thats enough for me, I hope some agree/disagree. Make for a interesting thread. Plus for the reader who just doesn't care, ether do we so leave or read. Let the polling begin. |

I have the 4G mini and I love
I love the idea of being like "hey I want to listen to this song" and having it thre right away with out having to feed through a million CDs the only thing of concern Ive noticed is the battery its expensive to fix and its irritating as fuck i bought a warentee for mine and I'd say go for now I dont have to pay for a new battery and if my headphones break I can exchange them for new ones |

i just got a mini and love it too
i didn't need huge HD space because i'm not a music junky and still have almost 30gigs of space on my laptop i got an arm holder thingie for it so i can listen to it at the gym without it getting in the way get a 4-6 gig mini |

10gig
I had a 10gig..lost it:028: ..and now I have a mini. It really depends on how much music you listen to. If you listen to a fair amount I'd say make a trip to the states and get a 10gig, you get alot more for your money. The size really isnt that big of a deal in the end because you can have up to 4000 songs and you can put files and notes and such on it. The mini isnt bad, but speaking as somebody who has owned both I definitly say go with a regular one.

i have a 20 gig, my dad has a mini that i've borrowed a fair bit. i'd go for the "big" one. it's still tiny, i throw it in my jacket pocket, my back pocket, or purse, and never have any problems. in guy pants i'm sure it'd be no prob at all to keep it in your front pocket. true, you won't listen to all your music in a day, but having most of it in there saves you the hassle of having to transfer music every night, or listen to the same stuff. scrolling through my list of over 2500 songs only takes a few seconds, and i love being able to be listen to any one of a zillion songs, depending on what i feel like at that moment.
hey, to each their own, but for me... bigger is better! |

if you're gonna use it while you play sports (running, cycling) the shuffle is the best choice. no moving parts in a hard drive that can get damaged. also, if you read the box on the shuffle, you can make your own track selections. the auto shuffle is just a marketing thing. even though most other players come with that feature as well.

for me...20g is perfect.
for my best friend..he just sold his mini because it didnt have enough memory. but I can't speak for you. for me size of the player itself didnt really matter. it's either in my jacket pocket or my purse. so it wouldnt matter if it was a mini or not. |

Purdy As for doom's recommendations, he would suggest going with the http://creative.com/products/product...4&product=9288 he has two of them and they fully rock it. |

such a lack of features in comparison to another one of equal capacity and in any case hard drives will last you a much longer time than flashdrives yes they are no moving parts but when they break you throw them out you cant fix them any warentee you are gona be offered or have will be an exchange cause its a waste of money to attempt to fix them so if you do get a flash drive mp3 (if from future shop) buy the warentee and abuse the warentee privlages as much as you like just dont smash the damn thing |

Well if you can withstand having a 3-5 hour battery life on the ipod mini, then by all means go for it.. i think that's fuckin ridiculous personally
although thats just what people have told me so don't quote me on that, but you should look into it. my md player gets 60 hours on 1 aa batt. |
