because jungle doesn't bring 1000 people to a party
he's always in the second or third room, and personally i think it's better that way. smaller, darker room + jungle/breaks = a good junglist vibe. it's just the way it should be... would it really be right if jungle was more mainstream than trance? NO! so let's keep it hidden in the second room |

Jungle DJ's that headline parties and bring out the crowds! That second room is going to be so massively packed when Capital J is on...no one's going to be able to move. That's why it sucks. Oh yeah, and I don't need to remind you that he was one of the headliners at Houdini last year. Last edited by galaxie; Jan 13, 02 at 07:03 PM. |

Heh.....so Jordan, are you saying you're a hh and trance fan now?! :D: |

Damn dude, Capital J, in tiny lil Riverside's second room. The guy deserves more than that. At Houdini, when he was spinning, i was there, the entire BC room was packed full!!! And the BC room is about 3 times the size of the riverside second. Can you imagine how packed its gonna be at Riverside??? (fuk i'm starting to hate that venue)

ak1200 & dieselboy are d&b dj's WITH VERY LARGE NAMES THAT HAVE EARNED THEM A RIGHT TO HEADLINE A PARTY (but in vancity you won't see this! they usually only spin at clubs out here) and freaky flow is just fucking cool. haha word to flipside. i've only seen him headline at parties no bigger than 500-1000 capacity (like riverside). i don't recall him ever headlining in the plaza, but i could be mistaken. either way it doesn't matter. capital j's sets are usually pretty annoying, it's a selective taste that the majority of vancouver kids don't have. we don't all like hearing stupid remixes of top 40 tracks or superhero theme songs... especially when he brings that homo mc with him... bahahaha... LET'S FACE IT. JUNGLISTS HAVE NO MONEY PROMOTERS GOTTA USE THE RIGHT BAIT TO CATCH THE BIG FOB FISHIES... |

last year we brought in l natural, marcus and another vinyl syndicate dj to a sweaty underground party. now in terms of international exposure, marcus and l natural are MILES above capital j, whom i believe has one release that is currently being sold in bargain bins. they fill clubs all over north america and the uk. to this crazy fun party, we reached capacity at the door... and cap was about 2-300ppl. i believe it was the one and only time i've met you, you stood with us outside the spanish as we were doing a checkpoint for a few brief minutes and you didn't even show an interest in coming. we could barely get 300 people to come see some amazing jungle talent... why would there be a huge rush to see some hack like capital j? jungle is niche in vancouver. jungle headliners have always been second room material, a way to pack a place tighter. jungle djs do not 'bring out the crowds' unless you call 100-500 kids a 'crowd'. you will not get over 500 kids with a big headlining jungle dj at a rave. jungle just isnt that popular here. all in all, capital j can barely fill a clubnight, let alone a party. he isn't that good. his attitude is absolutely shit, and the only reason anyone cares about him is that van city promoters pump him up as 'being from toronto'. id choose manos one over capital j any day. r. |

all that shit asside........................
how can there be an Emotion 9 ????????? there was no emotion 8 !!!!!! swing kids bought the rights for emotion 8 (previously owned by V.I.B.E. productions), but the party never happend because richmond put a ban on raves. anyways, i just think it's silly. ps~ there has been talk of having Bridge Point aproved to host a "valentines day rave" (according to the Richmond Review). so maybe all your hysterical cries will be for not. http://members.fotki.com/silverfish |

I find that SO amusing.
I am from Toronto, and Capital J is like...whatever there. Since he is a local, he is never a headliner. BAM! He comes to Van and you would think that Ed Rush and Optical were coming to town. haha...he ALWAYS plays the second room in TO, and that's how I like it because he gives that smaller, vibeier room so much flavour. Think of it as being more intimate with Capital J. He likes it that way. Last edited by high-dee; Jan 14, 02 at 10:29 AM. |

id choose manos one over capital j any day. My first jungle tape was a Marcus and Mystikal set recorded in Toronto. I love Marcus, Vynl Syndicate et al, and I love dark and deadly jungle to no end, but Capital J is honestly alot of fun. He seems to be good at attracting people not exposed to Jungle, too. Which is a reason why he would fill up a room more than "better" dj's. I've been in crowds such as at D'oh 2 where people wandered from the main stage to where he was playing, having no clue who he was. I was up at the front, and before he started it was dead. After he started, there was a sea of people stretching back towards the other stage. All having fun. Sometimes, that's all it's about. That's all. Zondac Zondac |

For your information, I was actually QUITE looking forward to that party, it's too bad I got let down. That's the risk you take though, I have no qualms about it. I was simply making a comment that it's not too bright to but capital j in the second room at riverside. I too would choose manos one over capital j......I never praised his dj skills. |

yeah well thats the risk you take bringing in an mc.
half the people liked him there and the other half want him to leave. bringing in an mc was an experiment, and now half the people want him back, and everyone else thought he was shit. thank god it wasn't mc groove at least. r. |

it's the same as like getting scotty oh or azim to headline in e.town...
same deal i would think. capital j was not bad at the first shock records tour...i mean he did pull off a good wake up set in the main room during the morning. and that scratching of mary had a little lamb was just off the hook (i dunno how good the scratching was - quality wise) but it was interesting nonetheless... as for vinyl syndicate...twisted used to bring them in for simple and what not (when twisted junglist krew) still existed. but yah...it's just dead now...jungle kuz usually a room with funky house or breaks usually draw a bigger crowd... :262: |

Waait a minute now..
This guy still holds the popularity he did maybe two years ago? ..and here I thought that people were sick of the 'junglized' remix of bittersweet symphony? We've got locals who can scratch just the same, play better music, and whose presence certainly doesn't mean we have to pay ludicrious ticket prices/cover charge. Would you pay 45 bucks to go to a rave in toronto and see Dabbler spin? ...heh, didn;t think so. MxMx |
