VISA Question.....
All right, I had a situation recently where I bought something online. The total was in the $300 range but the vendor screwed up and only charged me $30 something. I have already received the item too.
My question is this.... when the vendor realizes their error, which they most likely will, can they charge out the remainder without express consent from the card holder? I assumed no myself, but someone told me otherwise. I figure that they are only allowed to make the single charge and if they mess up it's their fault. In order to charge the remainder they need your consent to charge the card a second time. Anybody know for sure??? |

that happened to be at a hair salon once...it was suposed to be $50...but went through as $0.50. And as soon as i've left the store...my card is gone too. If that happens at my work..we're S.O.L because we need either the card to be swiped..or an imprint that matches the number (if the card is de-magnatized) As for over the 'net...I think unless you signed a pre-auth, they can't go in and void it without the card. If they go back in and charge you the difference...you didnt sign it. So you could take it up with your bank. If you didnt sign it...it can't go through.
holy i'm rambling. |

thats not nice.
do the proper thing and inform the people of thier mistake, cuz if you dont karma has a funny way of coming roiund like: youre shambhala tix will be lost in a fire that burns your home to the ground or something. then youre doubly screwed. |

^I'll keep that in mind.... although I've done my fair share of 'good karma' deals with nothing to show for it.
Something tells me that my house will be just fine. Besides, what would YOU do? You'd give them a ring and say 'Hey, you f'ed up! I have my tickets here but I really feel the need to give you the extra 3 hun!' To be honest, I wish I did have that kind of charcter but when I have a chance to save myself 300bones that could go towards say, taking my kiddo to Disneyland, I'm gonna do it. |

^That's kind of what I'm expecting but the question is CAN they do it? The item has been received, the receipt has been signed, and the charge has went through.... I mean if I have to pay for it obviously it's no big deal. I obviously ordered with every intention of paying the full amount.
I'm not about to call up VISA and ask them that's for sure...hahaha |
