Fine For Vicious Dogs
Local News Fine for vicious dogs
document.write(dateConvert("2005-03-08 10:52:59"));March 08, 2005 - 7:52 am By: Treena Wood/The Province A Langley Township councilor says dog owners, whose pets injure someone, should be made to pay. Muriel Aranson has proposed a $100,000 fine be added to the township's new vicious dog bylaw. At a debate into the issue, Aranson said council has to get draconian with dog owners because the only thing people understand is money. The city's permits manager told her a fine that high is out of the question. Glen Gordon suggests higher licensing fees for high risk dogs and hiring three animal control officers. The township is holding a public meeting on the issue later this month. |

i think once a dog hurts someone they should have that dog taken away and then an investigation should be done into the reason that the dog:
1.) is aggressive. 2.) was in a situation that allowed it to hurt someone. the fines are ok, but they shouldn't leave it at that. |
