update: since i posted last i have tried two other fish & chip resturants: pajo's (on the dock in steveson) and king's fare (marpole).

king's fare has been around since 1981 and serves an amazing plate of fish a chips. the batter is a tradional english style, and fried nice and crisp andthe halibut is nice and fresh and chunky. the tater sauce is tradional as well, and the fries are chipped daily. TIED FOR 1ST W/ GO FISH FOR NO.1

pajo's, ok fish, good prices but does not compare to KF or GF
