So I'm taking my dog for a walk at the beach...its a white shepard;P
lady: (picks up her little dog) Did you see any pitt bulls down there?
me:umm...no?
lady:are you sure? because last time there was a pitt bull that growled at my dog.
me:well...you can just head on down there...hopefully no more pitt bulls come.
lady:what do you mean MORE pitt bulls
me:(I'm thinking*...I hope you don't run into any more pitt bulls like the one you ran into before...but of course she looks so pathetic, like exactly what the media feeds off of with this "pitt bull fever" so I say..)

the news is set on a one track mind, it is out there to sneak around and make things seem bad or good its a very biast thing to follow, thats why i goto the news paper and magazines which are equally biast but at least you get the full story, i mean on the idea that pit bulls or in my case rottweilers, people say they are ferocious but truly they can be the cutest and nicest cuddly licky dogs ever just the way people look at them and freak out that causes the dog to freak out and get scared and etc that or else in some bad cases the owner trains the dog to be evil i hate animal cruelty its not cricket!!!

hey im ALL about the pittys,HOWEVER...lets not forget what pitbulls were bread for :)And it doesnt matter if its ghandis fucking pitbull,pitbulls are genetically prone to more aggressive/territorial behaviour.

every dog is genetically prone to aggressive/territorial behaviour. thats the reason they are such useful pets and have been for milenia.
also the fact that if trained you can either almost null those instincts, or make them more intense.
it depends on the dog and on the training it received.

If a pitbull wants to attack, there's no way you'll be able to keep hold of the leash when your 70lb (of solid muscle) dog charges it's prey.

I think its stupid that animals such as these with the potential to kill are legal... I think most people would object if I had a domesticated cougar for a pet... cougars, pitbulls, they're both unpredictable, and very dangerous animals.

Uummm no they don't actually. thats a dumb myth. They will however clamp and not let go but this is purely mental... they're just very determined... there is no phsyical locking mechanism built into their jaws.

This woman has every damn right to feel safe yeah of course...but if she wants to feel safe she should stop listening to the people that say they are dangerous and realize that she controls her fear. I bet this chick couldn't protect herself from ANY kind of dog that growled at her and when it's a pitbull she initiates the attack mode..
I walk on kits beach every day for an hour and a half in the morning and an hour at night, NOT ONCE have I ever ran into a dog that growls at me. Of course I've seen agressive natured dogs but they only act it out on weak, nervous people. Dogs are hyper sensitive to a persons body language. The media shouldn't encourage these fears that instigate atacks in the first place.

^I love pitbulls too,however what I was and am getting at is that pitbulls can be pretty brute,regardless of who thier owner is or how they have been raised/socialized etc,its in thier blood because they were bread to be fighting dogs.

do you understand that pitbulls skulls stop growing after a certain age thus placing pressure on thier frontal lobes thus giving them an even shorter fuse then they might already have,with that said that makes them more prone to turning on humans...even thier owners,AND other animals.

i think its a lot about the owners...some poeple are just stupid pet owners and can't control or don't bother to control their dogs..train ur dogs..if not..keep them on leash, get a shock collar, walk them when there are very few people on the streets, make them wear a muzzle or a haltie?

i think the whole pitbull thing is stupid..banning them?..pitbulls aren't the only media targeted dangerous dogs...there's the rotties and chow chows..and dobbies..the list goes on forever...
how many movies are there with rotties as teh evil biting dog..and honestly..one of my babies has been attacked by at least 3 different rotties..how come we're not banning them?

there was a time when chowchows were targeted and since one of my babies is half chow..when bringing him to a dog salon..it took forever to find a place to even cut his fur..cuz chow's are dangerous..actually..my dog is the biggest pussy..

i feel bad for pitbulls..i hope they won't be banned around here..
