Revealed: Israel plans strike on Iranian nuclear plant

ISRAEL has drawn up secret plans for a combined air and ground attack on targets in Iran if diplomacy fails to halt the Iranian nuclear programme. The inner cabinet of Ariel Sharon, the Israeli prime minister, gave “initial authorisation” for an attack at a private meeting last month on his ranch in the Negev desert.

why wouldn't Israel hit it? everyone in that region is their enemy, or at least the other way around. Nuclear armaments drastically changes the geo-political situation. don't you think they would want to maintain their advantage?

The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt is on the move in Atlantic Ocean and is possibly headed towards the Mediterranean Sea. The convergence of three carrier groups in the corridor of the Middle East will send very strong message to the Syrians and Iranians. There are indications that soon US is moving two more aircraft carrier battle groups to the Eastern Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf. how many time must i repeat this. go read ur last thread on the subject. iran has a different nuke program than iraq in 80s. iraqi program was more centralized & hittin the breeder reactor at osirak which was mainly used for production of bomb makin material + few relavent research facilities put major dent in the program. hittin iranian reactors will mainly affect electricity production as iran has a well concealed uranium enrichment program which has no dependency on reactors.

does the political will exist rightnow? is there a chance of even britain acquiescing to an attack on iran? the americans might be able 2 launch an air campaign but do they have the man power 2 invade & occupy iran which is much larger & more hardcore religious than iraq? w/out the latter there is not much point in the former as it would just push iran in2 a corner & strengthen the hands of the ayatollahs. it would serves no1's political purpose & certainly wouldn't be supported by pentagon military brass irregardless of whut the neo cons might be yapping.

Perhaps you've forgotten that the nation was created not only from the holocaust, but also from the jews that were supressed and enslaved like the blacks of America throughout the middle east. These are people of the same bloodlines as many of the surrounding countries hated only for the fact that they wanted to study judaism. Of course, if you were to want to believe that you were to "be a good person with a special connection with god" you would have had to wear two different colored shoes to mark your insignificant religion.
You shouldn't be naive to the fact that the years of attacks can have negative effects on the simple views of peace within the region. I know of course my safta would come across as racist to anyone who doesn't understand what she's seen the arabs do to her people for the 60 years she's been living there. She escaped Germany only to find new hatred for her beliefs in Israel. If you believe that your country standing it's ground is an act of racism...it's just simply is NOT.
