It occurs to me to point out that the majority of the US' enemies are geurilla infantry. Which is most effectively defended against by land mines. I'm sure they clean up after themselves, anybody know if they do?
That's the problem with Anti-Personnel Mines. You can lay 100's of them a day and keeping track is hard to do so sadly it's rare that fields are cleaned up when the occupying forces leave. They've still found ones from WW1 and WW2 all over Europe to this day. Most of the time they just post a sign. Some countries like Afghanistan (The most heavily mined Country in the World) don't even have that.
