Used to be into the blinds/skins and stuff. I found that it harped on performance, plus totally flibbed on some of the cover elements (half icons and shit). Now im just anal on my windows setup and layout. I rearrange around half the start menu on install now, no matter whos computer it is, I mean WTF is Character Map doing in the system tools, lol. My major 'mod' would be my start menu..

right now I have my start menu heavily modified, services and the shell edited and reduced in registry, static page file, UltraMon for my monitor set up, a little app called Copy Handler which is the bestest thing ever (queues up copying jobs, is stupidly faster than windows) I also hacked Messenger's registry to reduce the load as well stripped out some of IE's bloat and added in tabbed browsing. Nothing really that cosmetic (I tried tclock for a while and then decided it wasn't worth 3MB of ram ) |

yeah ive never understood why people use ultramon. i mean personally i dont need to see my system's resource usages in real time but i guess it'd be useful for development. as for hacking IE, wouldnt it be easier just to download firefox? hehe
post a screenshot of your shell! :) |

Tools > Options > General There is a checkbox for: "Firefox should check to see if it is the default browser when starting." Check it and click Check Now. |

s'not for system monitoring, it allows multiple taskbars. I can't got without now, I put all my active program tasks bars at the top of my windows and auto hide them. the normal task bar is just one bit launch pad |
