New piercing...
I have been thinking about getting my labret done for awhile now and I was wondering if it hurt. Not that that will stop me from getting it done but out of curiosity. I was also wondering where some of you would recommend to get it done as well as giving me prices...
Thanks |

asking 'does it hurt' is a really stupid question.
isn't it kind of obvious a needle being forced through your skin is going to hurt? maybe a little? it's 4 seconds of pain at the most anyways, that should be the least of your worries. |

A good friend of mine runs a tattoo and piercing parlor in NewWest. I FULLY recommend getting him to do your piercings. He's experienced, clean, and inexpensive compared to many of the other shops.
His name is Wolf and he runs Steel Temple on Edmonds near Kingsway. He's done all my piercings and I wouldn't go anywhere else. |

As for NEXT, you can get the same clean and sterilized professional service at plenty of other places for a lot less. NEXT is great, don't get me wrong, but obscenely over priced for the service they provide. |

I strongly disagree. You get what you pay for. Sure, you can get something done dirt cheap at mac's leathers, but they also use cheap titanium jewellery and have someone just poke a hole in you, give you some iodine and shoo you away. I would encourage NEXT! for people who are getting a piercing done for the first time, only because they really make an effort to educate all first timers. They sit down and talk to you about aftercare, precuations, actual signs of infection, etc. I think that is IMPERATIVE for people getting their first piercing. Have you ever been to next? I worked there for two years and sat in on these sessions, they spend a good amount of time making sure everything is clear to the person before this even happens, and to be honest I don't see that at other places done that thoroughly. You seriously do get what you pay for, quality. :) |
