excessive death and carnage around me lately
so it seems to be that, lately, every time i go near an emergency response vehicle someone is either dead or seriously injured.
i saw a major house fire (the house was destroyed) and a car accident involving the jaws of life and a median in one night. then a few weeks after that i saw all in one night: on kinght and 28th a pedestrian assumably killed by a car, an old man who looked like he had a heartattack in the middle of an alley in kerrisdale, and then another one involving 3 cars that appeared to be totaled. i've seen several car accidents in the past few days. and last night in surrey we drove near an accident so bad they had 4 city blocks shut down and like 5 or 6 emergency response vehicles there. then, we drove past what appeared to be 2 street racers who had crashed into a car stopped at the light near river road and king george, as we were driving over the bridge we saw an old drunk man being questioned by several cops down by the water. really, these are just some of the accidents i remember right now. it's to the point where my bf and i avoid areas where emerg vehicles are. perhaps it's s sign that we should slow down. |

It's really scary seeing big accidents.
Since I started going to school 6 months ago, I've seen 5-6 big accidents along Gaglardi Way. That place is just accident prone. It's a hill, high traffic at times, students rushing, pitch black at night, especially bad when raining or snowing. I've never ever been to an accident scene BEFORE the ambulance comes though, so I fortunately don't have to witness that. :( People do need to slow down, and generally, people get way too angry on the road!
