When All the Technology Works Properly
I just bought myself an iPaq 1940 Pocket PC (like a palm pilot, but more powerful) with a 802.11b Wireless card adapter.
Now I can use the wireless connection on it to connect to my computer at home via VNC anywhere that there's wirless internet access. Even cooler is the fact that I can get people at my work to connect their computer to my computer at home so I can see their computer screen on my computer at home via VNC to my iPaq. I can then use that connection to fix their computers at work, wherever I am so long as there's wireless internet access. That means that if I'm working in Coquitlam and something breaks in Surrey, I check out what the problem is in Surrey from the palm of my hand without Surrey having to wait for me to drive there or even finish what I was working on in Coquitlam. Isn't that just the damned coolest little bit of technology? |
