I'm in your boat. However I now use a simple method that has worked fairly well, I don't go over the line of expressing an opinion to argueing unless I KNOW I'm right and I can prove my point. I guess its a stubborn thing.

and yes, there is certain etiquette. You can use between a thousand different words and still get the same point across.

so youre asking if one should use respect when expressing themselves? nah, i usually disregard other peoples opinions and say whatever the hell i want not caring who is present/listening at all.. ... no.

youre question is quite vague, or perhaps you meant for people to define the question themsleves, in which case: youve wasted my time.

i do believe in forum etiquette though. this includes following the most logical and basic rules: dont start threads that you wouldnt want to read yourself(unless its an e/n), dont troll, dont double post, dont post a single word/phrase, also.. PLEASE read the damn post before you reply so you dont repeat what someone else has already said!

I would say that I try to treat everyone with respect. But there is a small, standard I have -- People need to earn respect. Not by doing something stupid..(even though that would amuse me..), but by respecting oneself. It is simple. Confidence and a belief in the common good... Or am I dreaming...
