a bunch of people i know get it done at the clinic on georgia, near thurlow. i think it's beside the axis salon. they said it tickles, one person said it left them with a flushed warm face for a day. i think they go bout once a month, 45 minute sessions.
i've thought bout getting it done for my scarring, still contemplating...but i think i'm going to wait till i hit my 30's to go through with it. myra, you have a clear complexion (or good makeup) and i don't think you're wrinkling or spotting yet. i'd hold off for a couple of years, but it's up to you. |

"Microdermabrasion is a skin-freshening technique that helps repair facial skin that takes a beating from the sun and the effects of aging. The plastic surgeon uses a device like a fine sandblaster to spray tiny crystals across the face, mixing gentle abrasion with suction to remove the dead, outer layer of skin. As with other skin rejuvenation techniques, more than one treatment may be needed to reduce or remove fine wrinkles and unwanted pigmentation."
Hm. Sounds interesting. might be good for a few of the smaller acne scars im tired of covering up with makeup. |

you can get home kits from shoppers.
there's a neutrogena one and a neostrata one. the lady at shoppers told me that the microdermabrasion kits aren't that good for acne prone skin, and that i should try one of the at home skin peels instead. i bought the neostrata one for 50something dollars and it's worked great. www.neostrata.ca or or the microdermabrasion more specific |

my mom does it at her salon, it actually works really well.. however, it is a little expensive
even though you do see/notice results after the first time, people usually do them more than once if you're interested i can ask what kind of price she can give you Last edited by bungoshlung; Apr 06, 05 at 10:00 AM. |

it's not like the ladies are talking about gettin plastic surgery, this is for all intensive purposes a variation on a facial. |

My girlfriend Kim works at the Facial Rejuvenation Centre on Georgia and Bute there. She always tells me to come down and get something done and she'd get me a discount (not enough though! - 10%). It's a little expensive, and with microderm abrasion apparently you really only see results after 3 sessions sometimes more. I saw it being done once. She takes a pen-like wand thing that also sucks air like a vacuum at the same time it sends crystal particles through the tip (which is on a diagnal) that is run over your face. It takes off the top couple layers of skin. They also use some special cream/lotion.
Myra I can get you that discount if you'd like. Anyway, I'm gonna wait til I'm at least 30 for that sorta stuff. Never been high maintenance - just medium. Last edited by SquiLa; Apr 06, 05 at 11:13 AM. |

I was thinking of getting it done sometime before summer...my skin tone is really uneven and I wouldn't mind getting rid of some barely-noticable scars. Funny thing is that Myra, Kelly and I all probably are talking about scars that no one else would EVER notice. But, I know mine are there and I want them gone! :P |
