X-Men vs Raves!!! (latest issue of x-men comic)

i picked up the latest issue of X-Men, the 2001 annual, and as i'm reading allong i notice something...........

the whole thing is about the evils of raves and designer drugs (aka: E, crystal, ghb, etc).

the basic story: an evil drug cartel from cuba has created a drug that gets kids high by turning them into mutants. the become big evil demons at raves, and end up dead because of the drugs and the all night dance parties.

NO JOKE!!!!!!!!

half way through the comic, Beast hands Nightcrawler a flyer for a party called "out of body xperience.... all night long!".

beast says to nightcrawler: "it's incredible... the medical breakthrough that have occured here. and they've been twisted into common street drugs..."
nightcrawler: "which kids are obtaining at the most innocuous of circumstances..... these all night raves that even the parents are unaware of"
beast: "that's the best kind of 'fun', kurt... the kind that mom and dad don't approve of...."

the comic also features an interesting few scenes with new X-men: Chamber and Stacy X fighting in it out with flailing ravers in a sick looking warehouse party!!!!!!!!

hahahahahahhahaha =)

my favorite is the shots of ravers all dead from the effects of "designer drugs" (called "designer genes" because of comics code sensorships).

pretty funny stuff~ go check it out. and remember kids: the x-men say raves are bad! so don't go!!!!!!!

HeHe!!! Drugs from Cuba? That one of the biggest myths!!! Cuba hardly has any drugs and has harsh laws against them and they definetly aren't a large drug exporter. Raves are still bad tho, I've seen people turn into mutants when *I* took funny pills

that's the lamest thing i've ever heard. do you not like us anymore?
we were chatting about it........ me, trevor, jon and colleen...... it seems like you've been avoiding us. if it's because of the space or whatever~ that's totally not an issue. i personally know of at least a half dozen or so other venues we can use. it's totally cool~ nobody is going to bug you about it. i still want to work with you on some projects.

whatever......... i'm not making any sense. i'm loaded right now.

No it has nothing to do with you guys, your all awesome. I'm just such a hermit lately. I got really sick new years and am really getting too old for parties. I'm also really busy this weekend doing other things like work and stuff. It sucks I can probably do something next weekend, this weekend I sort of reserved for Nigel time. I've totally lost touch with this comic. I stopped collecting them in grade 10, after they started doing those massive crossovers and making issues with expensive foil covers. What is going on anyways? I heard psylocke is dead?
