Crowd watches girl being raped From correspondents in Beijing April 27, 2005 From: Agence France-Presse A YOUNG woman was raped by a man in a public toilet in north China as a crowd of some 40 bystanders stood by and watched, failing to help or call the police, state media reported Wednesday. The incident took place on April 18 in Hengshui city in Hebei province when the 32-year-old garbage collector followed the 19-year-old woman into a public toilet and attacked her, the Beijing Youth Daily said. Two police officers on patrol stopped to investigate when they saw a large crowd outside the tiolet. They found out a crime was taking place after one of the bystanders told them someone was being raped inside, 20 minutes after the assault started. The officers arrested the man at the scene. HARSH |

Its a weird psycological phenomenon. When large numbers of bystanders are witness to something like this, nobody does anything because they think someone else will act first / fear of embarrasment. If there was only 1 witness, they would likely act. Its weird that it went on for so long though... you'd think after that amount of time someone would do something

^What a bunch of fucking dumbass comments from a bunch of dumbass twats!!!!
Northern fucking _china_, you idiots!!! The land that slaughtered thousands of their own people?... NOT the same daily life you live, here!!! YES! It's wrong, and terrible! But the emoting fnk'ers and quasi-psychological profiling, proferred, above, is just as disgusting! Maybe I should start a poll-thread: Which do you think is worse? A Chinese rapist, or fnk responses? Frosty (It's just so awfull, isn't it?) |

That's what made me laugh at this:

That said gnosis.. Their culture is vastly different from ours, but I'm pretty sure rape is still generally frowned upon.... |

^^ Just a quick sarcastic comment was all that was. Ours? Theirs? I'm talking about the common societal relationships in these citys all over the world. People overlooking the dead guy in a local skytrain station, or the people neglecting to step in to stop a crime in Northern China. Sorry i did not spew some "pointed" insight for everyone, i'm not going to have an existentialist debate with fnk.ca.
