Help me find this product in Vancouver
I'm looking into making custom poster frames for my many works done over the past years. Basically im looking for the plastic tubing that attaches on the top and bottom of a poster then hangs from the wall. You have probably seen these in poster world or even have a couple for yourself. Now I have about a dozen plus posters I wish to hang, but im not about to pay $10+ bucks each for them when its only tubing! If you have come across such a product, please help me in my search.
My best bet would be to find the stuff via contracting supplies in bulk. Then have it cut down to my sizes (some 11inches, some 17inches, some much bigger). Here is an example of one style of tube, http://www.displays2go.com/product.asp?ID=4924 |

this is perhaps a long shot but Daiso at Aberdeen centre in richmond. If you dont know what this place is its a 2 floor $2 store. Sure u may think its ur avg $1 store but its not. Quality is way better and if u actually walked around the entire place you will find alot of useful little things to buy. It could or could not be found there iono

if you work with wood...it'd be easy and cheap to get two rounded sticks from a craft store and slide them down a table saw...secure the poster with a couple of finishing nails and paint it up* Use a nice nylon string;P
Either that or try taking your tubing from home depot to any office with a paper cutter...make a fold in the tubing by pressing it down on one side at one end....proceed down the tube making a few creases that are aligned with one another and then slide your hand to connect them...that'll make sure it's a straight crease. Lay the petal shaped tubing on the cutter with the pointed side at the blade and cut it as close as possible to the crease. Spin it up to make it have some good pressure to hold the poster* Try that:) |
