anyway wum, where are you getting this info?
interesting story: a guest speaker once came into my class. she practices reiki and was explaining all this stuff about energy around us and in food. she showed us some pictures with some special photographs that were able to pick up the kind of energy surrounding food. one picture showed an unmicrowaved food item and it had this type of coloured light (representing the energy). the second picture showed the food item that was microwaved, and had none around it. so... it was kind of trying to represent that microwaving kinda kills off the foods' "energy".
the presentation was interesting, but who knows how scientifically sound it really is. I wish I knew more about photography and light to really understand what it was they were picking up though...

this person came to a class? guess it wasn't photoshop school :kam:
Microwaving water forces it to change polarity very quickly creating friction between the molecules, and thus, heats up your grub. It also de-ionized the water. There's lots to say this is terrible, yada yada yada.
For plants, however, deionized water causes problems in the photosynthesis process. De-ionized water is also much more pure, so background elements & salts won't be present which plants also require.
Flat out, microwaved food is bad for you.
Having said that. You might smoke, or be around somebody who smokes. This is equally as bad for you. You run around in sunlight... Also bad for you. Everything is bad for you.
