I can't remember the names of the best parties I've been to. Most of the time they were spur of the moment road trips (heh, up north, going ANYWHERE was a road trip) after hearing through the grapevine something was going down in such-an'-such town.
While these parties usually weren't the fantastical extravegants seen in the Lower Mainland, the spontinunity of getting to them was what made them memorable. :smoke1: |

My Favorite Party was Insomia. Running through the ally, hidding from the cops, the ducking into a hole in the fence to get to the space (mitichel island). The vibe was so right. The only crappy part of the party was they hard to turn the tunes down every once in a while when the cops were close, and when it got shut down early. Fraggle Rock was also a heck of alot of fun too.

New years 2001 @ the plaza. EVERYONE was high. Made for a great vibe.
BC room at spooky 5. Mike and charlie were playing a set of cheesy breaks remixes for two hours. When he played vanilla ice breaks, EVERY SINGLE PERSON was dancing in the room (about 500 ppl in there, there was no room.) |

Jel-low was pretty rad.
just cause I sat on the hood of my friends car watching the stars with a good friend. watching golden foils dancing on trees spinning like a strainer of light. listening to noisy frogs on modest lakes. and then there was that bonfire dale made. as we sang queen around the blaze. and the night ended with the greatest MC battle I've ever seen. MC Fucking Raver vs. MC Verbal Assasin |

man - so many parties....but you know what - i cant really seem to think of one right now that was like totally amazing.
if i had to choose one, it would be five deadly venoms III at riverside back in 1999, the set that Freaky Flow and Flipside dropped was so sick...before he changed his style when he signed with moonshine. opening with "let me know" had the fcking lighters out and the full attention - like noone was outside. that party was so packed - all the people were there that were supposed to be there. JELO from toronto as well ripped shit up with kick ass bass drops and got this crowd fuckin rollin and pumpin. Top it all off, it was one of the only few times that the morning hours were ripped wide open by DJ Kosher - the "mystery" Dj with crazy ass HAPPY HARDCORE till like 9 am. all i remember was i couldnt walk the next day. bren Last edited by bren; Feb 26, 03 at 04:07 PM. |
