the da vinci code movie

i haven't read the book yet, but i know that it's a big deal right now, so i thought i would post this:

watch the movie trailer

it looks promising as Ron Howards is directing it and Tom Hanks and Ian McKellan are starring.

due out a year tomorrow.

First "Major Motion Picture" to be allowed to shoot in the L'ouvre.

It's the focus on the art that's made it so accessible.

i actyually liked Angels & Demons a lot more than the da vinci code probably only because it was so hyped up.

i'll most def see the movie though. and if you havent read angels & demons, GRAB IT!

technically the da vinci code is it's sequel, i read them in order. it wont matter much, it just puts some of the backstory to the character.

I read The Da Vinci Code before Angels and Demons. It's fine.

I agree, Angels and Demons is a much better book. I just think it's more fast-paced, and there's just better suspense.

I can't wait for the third Langdon novel!

Edit: By the way, that's gotta be one of the cheesiest teaser trailers I've ever seen. Good cast though. I'm fans of Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Alfred Molina. Great director too :)

yeah, I just finished listening to the book on audio CD (I put it one when I'm coding). It was decent, I thought the author tried to make the main character out to be a little too much likes the person the author WISHED he was, the end result being that his character doesn't really develop that much and seems swalowed but the enormity of the plot

lithe is on a distinguished road
i think i'll like the movie a lot more than i liked the book. it's easier for me to 'forgive' films for making ludicrous statements and leaps of logic than books, especially books which lend themselves airs of authority. plus the cast is rad. if it gets bad reviews maybe i'll just go see it with other religious studies/classical studies/art history people and we'll enjoy a cathartic two-hour period of intellectual outrage. :p
