Make sure you go to the End Up for at least one afterhours bash, opening at 6AM on Saturdays and Sundays. The End Up is an SF institution that includes a comfortable and spacious outdoor garden, replete with waterfall feature. It's where all the hardcore SF'ers "end up." Try Sunday morning for some of the best deep and funky house you've ever heard.

If superclub is more your style then try 1015 Folsom for four rooms of differing musical styles, from funky house to progressive to d'n'b to hiphop. Commercial, but interesting for the aspiring club tourist.

Try to fit in the standard touristy things like taking a trolley ride, seeing the sea lions at pier 39, and getting hustled for cash in curb-side dice games. Also go for a walk through the Tenderloin and marvel at all the private security guards keeping the numerous unsavory types from encroaching on the million dollar condos and perfectly manicured lawns up the street. Do it at 4AM and you'll feel like you're in Vancouver's downtown east-side, albeit with less heroin and more alcohol.

Have fun!
