noise complaints
Hi friends,
I just wanted to know if any of you have been in a situation where you had to give a noise complaint against someone else..I'm kinda interested to know if the first time you are bothered by the noise it's a good idea to make the complaint, or if you should wait until you have a few more so you can document them all and present them appropriately....and did you find it best to put it in writing, or present it verbally to your building manager/landlord ..oh, and if you have some horror stories, those would be funny too. |

haha, oh yah, and for horror stories: we were playing DDR and having a couple drinks, but i guess we got so loud that the guys next door called the cops. the cops! ive never had the cops at the door to tell us to stop dancing before!! lol...

My guess was last night, no..and not on other nights either some people just aren't intelligent enough to realize that when they're drunk and yipping out on their deck that their noise flows quite freely into surrounding bedroom windows. did i mention i have to get up at 5am for work? i should just go out then and scream at cars driving by like they did. |

having played in death metal bands growing up we used to get these ALL the time, if the person would come over in person and let us know we would turn it down, if they would be cunts about it we would pop the doors open and turn it up funny how that works.

so funny that you posted this. i just filed my first noise complaint against someone today. it didn't really feel good...i felt like some kind of snitch or something, but really what else can you do?
i know it was a saturday night, but he played gwen stefani from 3-4am at such a loud volume, i could practically hear the lyrics in my room. if you went out in the hallway you could hear the music as clear as if it was playing on the intercom system through his front door. i pounded for like five minutes, but he never answered the door. so fuckin' annoying, and my room is right next to his. this is the second time it's happened so i decided to do the noise complaint thing this time. sometimes it's all you can do. |

Myra I remember when our neighbors used to have 2 rotties that were kept in the backyard all the time and they would bark all night long. It was a huge pain in the ass we had to document times and everything for 2 months before somthing was finally done about it.

Hmm... My neighbour across the hall jams with drums. I can even hear it in my room sometimes. Funny enough, though, if I'm sleepy, I can sleep right through it.
I never bother about complaining about noise (despite the fact I normally sleep during the day because of night work) because: A. I'm a noisy bugger as well. B. Oak & 70th is noisier than any neighbour could be anyways. If speeding firetrucks screaming their horns can't restle me awake, I don't think noisy neighbours could either. Strange how my phone on low setting in the other room can still snap me awake, though. |
