How can FNK.CA be more involved in safer partying for Vancouver..
It dawned on me today. What with all the active members who regularly party weekends (the new generation forthcoming), FNK.CA does no more then Q&A to really help promote safer and smarter nights out. Some topics have some awesome users who give great advice when asked, although I feel that more could be done.
Let this be an open forum for ideas, discussion and just general feelings towards using FNK to help secure a safer weekend, not just for you, but for everyone! Now im not saying DanceSafe style, at Rave booths. That was a great positive here once. Shame it couldn't have stuck longer. Im speaking more of what can be done here (online) as a knowledge base. |

^that's why maybe there should just be a page or two on here that you can go to that have pre-done questions and answers written up by the mods or something. about how to be safe on E, get to a party safely and the do's and don'ts of raving...that way they don't have to be flammed in a thread!

nah, that's what would probably come to mind for most. the bottom line is you just can't write and leave open such stuff.
written directions (safe or preventative) on how to do drugs is not something FNK.CA would have, no. resource directorys, books, doctors, stuff along that lines. pre-meditated steps to ecstasy awareness and prevention of use, yes. |

Someone could start a discussion.. and just not come back to finish what htey had to say in it. get what I'm saying?! People get lazy...
Myles are you thinkin along the lines.. sorta as in that urbandiction.com or whatever its called? Casue didn't ishkur do something like that... |

Not even an open forum. Perhaps just a sticky with suggestions compiled by admins from other users, on how to stay safe if YOU yourself make the decision to take drugs. Do's and Don'ts of raving is an ace idea as well. After all its not condoning the use of drugs or promoting it even, just instructing on how to keep healthy and safe if one makes his/her own choice. |

hm, i could understand the hesitation on the how to do E safely thing. maybe links to websites that already have that information on them?
the doctors is a good idea, and i still think you or someone should write the do's and don'ts of raving. make it funny, too! i could also see you writing something funny that describes all the different kinds of ravers, or the genres of electronic music and the people that go along with them. |

There is tons of useful information in the FNK archives.
Just use the search feature and look it up. In regards to E use and effects I've posted near essay type responses to user questions back when we used to be a tiny board. Want to know how to preload properly... it's all there. Want to learn how to deal with the after effects... it's all there too. With every new "group" of partykids the same questions are asked over and over again. There isn't much that is discussed now that hasn't been covered already in the past. |

I think that one way to make things easier would be to have a documented Q&A that is LOCKED.. Have things to be added but it would make for less chance to have: bad information (IE want to know ask a doc and write the response later), bantering, and generally would be easier to follow as topics will be flying out of everywhere. I think that for safety a forum is great but a FAQ might be more productive.
Obviously as questions get asked they should be answered and added. - ë |

^ Good suggestion :)
I think the general idea is to inform the public (i.e. new members/partiers) on how to party safe without drugs. More of an awareness than a dictionary defintion on what each drug is, what the side effects would be... because in the end, some "kid" might read the info and think, "hmmm... that doesn't seem too bad". We could possibly add "what to do/expect if you chose to take this drug" at the end as a precaution, correct? |
