stupid things you thought when you were a kid

so, everyone must've come up with some pretty weird thoughts when they were kid about how the world works, before they actually understood everything. what were some of yours?

ones i remember:

1) i thought that if you wanted scrambled eggs you could just pick up the eggs in the your fridge and shake them before you cracked them. never worked.

2) i thought all radio broadcasts were live people playing over a microphone.

3) i used to think that just to solve poverty and homeless people the government should just print up a whole bunch of money out of their money machines and then we'd all be rich.

there's lots more, but i can't remember them, so i'll post them as i think of them.

1. The Marine VHF was like a Phone. I made a Call to find my Dad once (He was the Radio Station Manager where we were living) on Channel 16 (The Marine Distress Frequency) with a MAYDAY. heh Little did I know it was heard up and down the B.C. Coast. I didn't get in much trouble as I was like 4. But you can see my logic behind it... and hey, it worked.

2. I thought that Whales could eat People

3. Always was under the impression my Parents didn't pay for anything. We got our Two months of Groceries by Chopper and I never saw them pay the Pilot. Apparently there was something in the Order Form.

Ummm... there's more. As you can tell I lived further out in the styx than pretty much everyone here.

I thought that a movie (not a cartoon) was live actors every time, and I wondered how they didn't get really tired doing the same thing over and over.

I thought that if you paid a bus driver enough, he'd take you right home.

I used to think that when couples got married, the moment they kissed on their wedding day, something magical would happen and a baby would somehow be implanted in the woman's tummy.

I also had a really mean cousin who told me once that if my finger was bit off by this lobster they bought, my finger would grow back to normal. I believed him. =(

i never had a doll house so i always made my own out of shoe boxes and whenever i got called down to dinner it would be my doll's bed time or they would go to school or something where i wouldnt need to be playing with them for them to "carry on activity" one night i had this epiphany that what if i was living in some persons shoe box and that every time i went to bed was their dinner time. i had a lot of sleepless nights thinking about this because i went as far to think that my thoughts may be being made by someone else because the dolls that i play with didnt have hteir own brains i was their brains... oh man. it scared me alot.

i used to believe in wishing on a star because most of my wishes were really small ones that would come true.

^that dollhouse thing sounds like something i would have thought up. i'm a pretty neurotic fellow.

when my parents would ask me to set the table i used to always set every single thing out: knives, forks, spoons, etc... even if they weren't needed because i thought if i left a knife or a spoon in the drawer they would get really sad that they were left out.

I thought no drinking and driving meant no drinks at all, even pop haha.

i thought that the beer kokanee was pronounced 'cocaine' and proceeded to tell a group of my dad's friends that he had some cocaine in the garage if they wanted any. now THAT'S a damn good childhood memory.

oh yeah! I also used to think that sleeping with someone, literally meant sleeping in the same bed with the person. I always wondered what was so wrong about it!

like mugsy i used to have a lot of moments about percieved reality.
truman show kind of stuff.
like how i could never prove anyone else was a real person or that there was anything outside of vancouver, and maybe my little block was the center of a little planet and everything else was made up.
also for a while i was obsessed with luck, like OCD on things like tapping my fingers a certain numbers of times, because if i didn't something horrible would happen.

haha for the longest time, i used to think that i was alone in the world. and God was playing out my life. Everyone around me was either an angel or a demon playing along with what already happened. Kinda like as if i was God's gift to the world. It's hard to explain... lol

i used to also wonder about what was out there in space all the time... it's still a mystery to me. like is there another galaxy out there that has someone exactly like me living the exact same mirror imaged moment....

i know theres alot more but i can't remember....

-I used to think that the position of "69" was actually how you had sex (LOL)

-I also used to think that is you watched popcorn pop it would explode, so my friends and I would always throw it in the microwave and run.

-I used to think there were sharks in a chamber underneath the public swimming pool and if they opened the grates/filters that they would get out (bc my swim teacher told me if we were bad that they would put us down there w/ the sharks!)

I use to think the EXACT same thing...
