let me explain myself.. so sick of ppl who turn happy shopping convos into "BUT LOOK AT THE SWEATSHOPS" seriously.. so done and over. cheap labor will always exist..to us its cheap labor, but to the workers, they're making money and by working they're able to stay alive and feed themselves. seriously stop raining on our shopping parade.

i'm actually reading a book on sweat shops and it's sad to say that things Like that do happen. However in the end we're all contributing to the sweat shops in one way or another. So that being said I say sport whatever you want to sport. Dont listen to some biased one sided opinion.

truth is that almost everything is somehow linked to cheap labour and the "machine". everything from food to clothing to even electronics (scrap metal collected by the poor and sold to factories)
so unless you're completely free of material goods which are linked to cheap labour and the "machine", you're just being a hypocrite. dont rag on people buying shit from hollister and nike if you're just going to turn around and get a burger at mcdicks. |

"For the full fiscal year, strong shoe sales worldwide boosted Nike Inc. profits to $1.21 billion for a year that began with the Olympic Games and ended with the highest gross margin the company has ever recorded." Taken from http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/b...arns-nike.html $1.21 billion dollars in profit. That's alot of money if you ask me.Can they pass some that profit over to their poor workers? Couldn't Nike and it's share holders be happy with 500 million in profit and 500 million to it's workers? No they are greedy cunts that continue to take advantage over the poor. |
