and I should really start wearing some earplugs when going to raves/clubs, I already have a slight ringing in my ears 24/7 which isnt good. I wouldnt mind getting some clear custom ones, I have problems with those cheapo foamy ones, they dont stay in my ears properly. |

the custom ones fits well but are very expensive. http://www.elacin.nl/elacin_en/index.html click on "fitting process" |

It's worth noting that the ER-15's (the standard 'musicians' earplugs) are *not* a totally flat frequency response like I expected... sure, they're flat to a point, but everything above 8khz rolls off sharply, so like the guy said above, sound is a lot less 'crisp'.
I personally don't mind *that* much - at high volumes it's the high frequencies that hurt the most. I'm not just mixing records though, I'm doing the full mix live, so it'd be much better for me if they were actually flat across the board. I just have to be careful not to boost my high frequencies to compensate, or I'll end up hurting my audience. :) |

If you think they are weird because they are sticking out then you are wearing them wrong. They are suppose to be practically invisible in side the ear with a bit sticking out. check youtube to how to wear earplugs. im talking about the tube ones that rollup. with them on after awhile the music seems normal. if your on a rollercoaster, wink wink you wont even know the difference.
