Al would throw underappreciated Riverside parties that people would bitch out for some reason or another because the music they played there wasn't all the same things you'd normally hear at Riverside... No mainstage trance on the most part, mainly techno, dnb, occasionally some breaks and hardcore.
House of X was awesome. DnB until about 2 or 3 from Freakyflow, followed by banging techno from Julian Liberator, and then at about 3:30 or so Dermatitis laid down some dutch Gabba. Not bad for a mainstage.
Then some stupid bitch decided to make a big deal about one of his parties getting cancelled despite Al's best efforts to cater to everybody (he even promised free tickets to a bunch of parties) this chick decided to go into a pissing match with one of the nicest guys to ever grace the rave scene.
So Al gave up and stopped throwing parties. Too bad, though. He really was one of the only promoters of the time to try to bring out some real, new and different talent to massives.
