Actually, I think PETA is too extreme. This is my personal opinion, I never condemned anyone, just stated that I didn't understand. If you guys truely feel hunting with a gun and all todays modern technologies still constitutes being part of the food chain then by all means.
Hardstylin - if you would like to try and convince me that we need to hunt bears to keep the food chain intact, I wish you luck. While the human population has been increasing over the years, grizzly bears have been declining and is even extinct from some of their native habitats. The only reason why it would seem that you would be overloaded with bears is that you are surrounded by some of the last of their habitat. Nearly half of Canadas population of grizzly bears live in BC.
Just because I live in the city doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on this. I was brought up around hunters and many of my families close friends live half time up in the North.
Now most people that actually go through the process to enter the draw follow the rules and do actually utilize the animal to it's potential. I'm sure you do, but many don't.
Animal activists and politicians wouldn't be involved if their wasn't some sort danger. The NDP actually placed a one year embargo on the hunt, but this was in 'those' days and they were voted out before it was put into effect.
This being said, it's obvious it's something you enjoy and are looking forward to, so I will wish you luck. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
Where can I sign up for the draw? I will pay to have someone not hunt.
